MORTAL KOMBAT VS DC UNIVERSE

When some came with news about this game some thought this was an April fool sort of trick out of the normal month, if you see the image with Sub-Zero head facing Batman's head you might think it's a fantastic work of photoshop, that was before seeing official game trailers and news directly from Akklaim Entertainment

MK Logo & DC Logo together representing the unite of two universes, it just didn't show what
comes with it

This is the game front cover, it's too obvious for me to explain

Character select screen for vs & practice mode has 10 characters from the DCU & 10 from "Mortal Kombat", plus the two bosses if you press the R1 button on the PS3 controller, the latter two are unlockable through finishing both story paths:
*Choose playing with DC characters & you unlock Darkseid after finishing it
*Choose playing with MK characters & you unlock Shao-Kahn after getting through with it

For the arcade mode you can choose who you fight, DC characters and the half boss is Darkseid, MK characters and the half boss is Shao-Kahn, or a mixed batch and the half boss can be either one of two.

The final boss of the game is a merge between both bosses, and is named Dark-Kahn

During fights; L1 tosses and R1 does a "Test Your Might" mode, watch what button is held by the enemy so you won't press it, if you press it your attack will be countered. If you are the victim press the button pressed by your enemy quickly after to counter.

If you hit a wall and fall a distance being thrown by the enemy press the button displayed by your enemy controls to take control and you strike the enemy, this way you won't be damaged and you're foe will be damaged by as much as you strike him/her.

I made this review & tutorial after playing for only a while on the PS3 only. The XBOX360 controls are the same key positions, just different names for their keys, I'm certain cause I played "Winning 11" with a friend on his 360 and it has the exact same control

SPIDER-MAN THE MOVIE GAME

First of all, never mind that the cover is for the game audio CD and not for the game itself, I had to find a cover quick

A few months ago I played the PC demo of Spider-Man movie game after a long time wanting this game as "The Spectacular Spidey-Geek" I am, I got really disappointed for not having him jump more than half the height of the PS1 Spidey games (those two are much better games in my opinion than this one), and I played his first stage with him as Spider-Man, it is really an annoying piece. At least there are two Shocker levels in the demo too, but they aren't all that good

Yesterday I finally played the whole game on my PC, I skipped the "Oscorp Levels" and what came after them using the cheat of skip level "ROMITAS", the game is OK, not really good in general, it is short that I finished it in 4 hours by cheat.

The graphics are much like the PC version of Spider-Man second movie game (why didn't they give us the console version for that? Here is hoping they fix that mistake and do port it one day for us). Gameplay has its good points like stealth and all the extra moves for combat making fighting something much more special than the regular button masher it is for the PS1 spidey games, Spidey 2, Ultimate, & Spidey 3 for the PS2

Surprisingly I did enjoy this game much more than the demo version. My only disappointment is that Kraven is exclusive for the XBOX, or at least I'd see his story here, and that will make it better on how the heck he knows Kraven already in Spider-Man 3

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Story: It's nice. 4/5
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Graphics: To someone spoiled by how Japanese games has much better graphics on PS1 consoles and this is a PS2 game they really are bad, they still would be even if that factor was unavailable. 3/5
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gameplay: Aside the jump, Spider-Man swings and fights slow, fighting is a complaint when a thug can out punch him. 3.5/5
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Replay Value: A spidey geek like me always replays and enjoys Spidey games like this, can't so no matter how bad cause I hate the "Animated Series" game, this one has its assets. 3/5
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bonus Material: Cheats to play as MJ, Shocker, or many others is groovy. I love the bowling. 5/5
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall: 3.7/5
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Spidey Geekyness Factor: Extra 0.5 on the overall turning it to 4.2/5

MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 2: FUSION

"Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion" is the latest comic book video game based on Marvel's major crossover known as "The Civil War", where heroes sided with villains against other heroes and villains just on the cause of the superhero registration act.

Pro-registration side is lead by "Tony Stark"/"Iron Man" side by side with "Mr. Fantastic"/"Reed Richards"

Anti-Registration side is lead by "Steve Rogers"/"Captain America" and "Luke Cage"

So tell me; don't you find it wrong that the star of the cover is Spider-Man and not "Captain America"? I mean Cap should appear on the cover and if there is a variant cover for a special edition or a limited edition "Iron Man" should be the focus character on the cover.

Does thee nay agree?
Don't you agree?

RESIDENT EVIL DEGENRATION

Hey there, I'm a "Resident Evil" addic, I enjoyed every RE game I played and the films I saw especially degeneration, at first I used to look at RE with "uggh"

So RE degeneration happens 7 years after the unforgettable "Racoon Disaster" (incident is too little a word to describe such sabotage, it's even related as fog in the room)

I used to believe that Claire had "Scenario A" & Leon faced "Scenario B". Why?

Here's the video that made me see things happened the other way around (Leon plays "Scenario A" and Claire faced "Scenario B")

In "Scenario B" Claire faces G (the G-Virus mutated "William Birkin") under the chief's morgue, and she faces him in his first mutation the way he was when he killed "Umbrella Mercenaries" who took the virus from him. In "Scenario A" she faces the grown embrio that rejected "Brian Irons" body

BORING GAMES ON THE PLAYSTATION 2

I am one who believes that the best released console I played video games on is the "PlayStation 2", I enjoy it very much that I find it has no bad games from which I played, there are however some few exceptions, games that are too crappy that they deserve to be placed in the list of the all time worst games from my point of view (I only saw them and did not play anything from them). Crap means lower than campy.

1. TOM & JERRY WAR OF THE WHISKERS: This game is a way too childish fighting game (piece of junk) with graphics so bad that they look like they belong to a N64 game, I believe N64 cartridges capacity can reach 256 MB, and this game looks like it has a capcaity of 220 Mega Bytes at max, there are no moves to be performed and no specials to be unlocked for it to deserve to be in a DVD.

2. There is a terrible shooting fighting game published by EA games, one of the playable characters in it is a monkey. The game graphics are still like they belong to a N64 console as well as the aforementioned game.

3. SPIDER-MAN WEB OF SHADOWS: AMAZING ALLIES EDITION: A side scroller? For the Playstation 2? The aesthistics look like they belong to a "Nintendo DS" game, and if you think the Next Gen consoles have bad voice acting wait till you hear them talk here.
For some unidentified reason IGN rated this version of the game with 7/10 when the ratings for the Next Gen ports are less than 5.5/10.

MIGHT I HAVE A NINTENDO Wii....

According to http://old-wizard.com the Wii is better than the PS3 because it has more quality games & the PS3 is more focused on quality graphics than they do on quality games, they have to know that it isn't Sony who makes the games but other gaming companies.

Old-Geezard is a web-site of Nintendo fanatics & highly against Sega specially Sonic, their categorizing of worst consoles is mostly Sega & best consoles ever is mostly for Nintendo, so I'm oughta pass their suggestion being the Sega friend who I am, but there can be no harm in taking their suggestion to heart here, right?

Anyway; I played Mario-Party on Nintendo Wii & a few other games with my cousins, the remote gadget is pretty neat & you can use NGC controls on it & playing the NGC games is pretty easy, not annoying like playing PS1 CDs on the PS2 & in the markets it is much more economical & comes with a few entertaining games like the "Wii Fitness", so I'm not just taking it because someone suggested it, the suggestion is just a boosting reason for me to get it.

Still as th title implies: I MIGHT GET MYSELF A "NINTENDO Wii" IN CASE I MIGHT GET A NEXT GEN CONSOLE

36. KEN MASTERS: Ryu's best friend & major rival in the "Street Fighter" series, I remember taking him the most back in the old days of SF2 just for his cool flip, & in SSF2 for his flip & flaming charyuken

37. Chun-Li: Ever since SF2 she had some of the coolest moves like flipping in the air (I know she isn't the only one) & her helicopter kick, also her rapid kick

38. BLANKA: The green beast of electricity, his flip attacks are still some of the best & he's (with Chun-Li & E.Honda) very handy for the bonus levels

39. JILL VALENTINE: Her loves comes mainly from my love of "Resident Evil 3" & fighting the best tyrant of RE games "The Nemesis"

40. CARLOS OLIVERA: Also comes from my love of "Resident Evil 3". In the mercaneries mode he's far from the best to play with for high cash but he's used easier than the traitor commander Nicholai, there he has a balanced take between arms & medicines but he doesn't have a weapon more powerful than his handy-dandy "Assault Riffle"

This is the TEKKEN list, don't wonder why it has only TEKKEN characters:

31. YOSHIMITSU: A robot ninja: The first one I enjoyed playing with in TEKKEN games because of his cool spin kick, and this image of his from TEKKEN 3 is the best design he ever had

32. FOREST LAW: He does look insanely like "Bruce Lee"; I know. And his moves are incredible to use.

33. PAUL PHOENIX: Stupid? No doubts, this made him adorably funny. Cool attacks? Yes, mostly the destroying punch.

34. KAZAMA JIN: Before TEKKEN 5 I felt he insanely sucks with his demon curse and his didn't seem so cool aesthestics. I played "TEEKEN 5: The Devil Within" mode and from there I started enjoying playing with this dude in every mode of a TEKKEN game

35. KAZAMA ASUKA: The reason is not just because she looks adorable (honestly it is a major reason, but that is not all there is, doesn't pass 30% of my reasoning). Her fighting style is great and she's the first character I was able to beat "Mishima Jinbpachi" with easily.

TOP VIDEO GAME CHARACTERS FILE 6

26. MR. X: Who's our favorite video game beast ever? NEMESIS. OK, who's our second favorite beast of all time? At least mine, this tyrant looks so human, he's even dressed up too. His face sort of looks like the Chameleons face after surgeries and as shown in the 90s Spidey cartoon. Who doesn't like him? I'm so sorry you feel that way, but it is a matter of personal taste after all, so no grudge available

27. DANTE (DEVIL MAY CRY SERIES): This game is everything good one can ask for in a senseless "beat 'em up game" that you have to beat villains in every step or room of of the game. He kills demons with his unlimited ammo gun & his uncanny silver swords (I guess), his aim is so perfect he can throw the phone receiver from his seat 12 feet away directly on the phone in the right position.28. SOLID SNAKE: The soldier against "Metal Gear" project in every game, you can use him to crouch & choke enemies in every game & throw guys in lockers

29. MUSASHI (SHINOBI 3): That's the name of this playable dude in this game, it's one of my favorite games in history

30. RIKIMARU (TENCHU): Mostly from nostalgia to Activision Tenchu game series, you can sneak behind enemies and give them an instant kill. Does anyone hate ninja games? I know I don't.

TOP VIDEO GAME CHARACTERS FILE 5

21. AXL LOW: This man from the 20th century is lost in time in the 22nd century, poor dude. His chains are sharp & deadly, he has the ability to shoot them for a long range and he can use them as a jump rope to throw you up and strike you in the air. His destroy move shoots you through a very long chain and blows you up, BAM.

22. CHIPP ZANUFF: A ninja born in America but he believes himself to be born in Japan, the poor slob had some time abusing cracks. His speed attacks make him hard to hit and easy for him to break your legs. His destroy moves is to make a blowing pentagram star, if you stand within range of it without blocking your destroyed. Destroy in "Guilty Gear" games wipe your health out completely.

23. SLAYER: The night walker in this game, he has a wife he can suck her blood as much as he like but she does not get harmed at all, he sure sucks blood with his sharp teeth and he walks in the night but he is not really a vampire. I have a hard time in describing his move so I'll avoid this part, at least for the current moment.

24. REPTILE: Bestly in "Mortal Kombat II", his moves there are the best and in any game and his invicbility & fatalities make him a masterful character to play with

25. NEMESIS: Did anyone say your favorite character has to be good? No. Does your favorite character have to be human? Absolutely not. Some people might say no but you find them to have Yoshi from "Super Mario World" as a favorite. Nemesis is the master of all tyrants in any R.E game; he can run, follow you from room to room (limitely, or you won't be able to get away from him without showing him the stars) and he uses a rocket launcher. If he screams this is a short but enough time for you to escape through him if needed.

This entry is purely on chicks, smile guys:

16. SAKURA KUSUGANO: I already said she has an honorary mention. The worlds cutest Sakura. An admirer of Ryu and a follower of his same combat methods (but she's a student of Dan) her moves are fun to do and she's the best character to play with in "Marvel Superheroes vs Street Fighter" & "Marvel vs Capcom 2"

17. Nakoruru: The female star of every "Samurai Showdown" game and an adorable looking chick. Her fighting style is great to do, it is fun to let her order her hawk to attack and jumping with slashes.
18. SAKAZAKI YURI: The Sakazaki family & "Robert Garcia" has amazing fighting style (forgot their karate style name, sorry about that), Yuri's attacks are the best

19. SHIKI (Samurai Showdown Series): I simply adore her, that's all there is about her

20. WHIP (K.o.F) a.k.a Muchiko: Exact same reason as Shiki

TOP VIDEO GAME CHARACTERS FILE 3

11. JOHNNY CAGE: A while has passed since I last played a "Mortal Kombat" game, and I forgot completely about one of the best characters in the game; "Johnny Cage". One of the "Realm of Earth" three champions, Johnny is a Hollywood movie star skilled enough in martial arts to prove himself in a competition between realms and he defeated the Shokhan prince who killed Liu-Kang's ancestor "Kung Lao". Outside of "Mortal Kombat Trilogy" "Johnny Cage" is one of the best points in MK. In your face you old-wizard.com psycho's

12. Dr. FAUST: This crazy bag-headed doctor is a legendary physician, once he performed an operation on a girl but she died and he got incarcerated for a crime he didn't commit. Rage turned him to a killer (under the name of: Dr. BaldHead) until the spirit of the young girl came to him and told him her death is not from his error. Dr. Baldhead concealed his head in a paper bag and uses the name Faust. His moves are spectacular and he's fun to play with, not to mention the comedy in his character

13. LIU KANG: Mortal Kombat games main star, even after his death in MK: Deception he had to return as a zombie and go against the evil sorcerer Shang-Tsung. This fighter trained in the temple of light in "Hong Kong" and is the best fighter & champion of MK series. Starting from MKII his hair became longer, he weared a head-band and his famous bycicle kick has taken its toll.

14. LEON SCOTT KENNEDY: Not related to former president Kennedy whatsoever. A rookie cop came to start officialy his first day on his job as a police officer in "Raccon City" where he met the sister of one of his fired superiors before Leon takes his job. After escaping the city; Claire took her own path and the presidential "Secret Services" took him, trained him and gave him a position.
15. KY KISKE: A former soldier in the disassembeled organization of the "Order of the Holy Knights" and currently an officer in the international poilce, his weapon is the "Sword of Lightning"; one of the former order sacred weapons which he only mastered. The main rival to "Sol Badguy" and second strongest fighter in "Guilty Gear" series

Sorry for taking long between this list and the previous one, so we shall continue:

6. KNUCKLES THE ECHIDNA: I alredy said so in the previous entry, playing with him is much more entertaining than with Tails, and his hand grabbers help him cling to walls. His rivalry with Sonic is fun in "Sonic X" the anime, didn't read any "Sonic X" comics

7. KUSANAGI KYO: Member of the Kusanagi clan; one of the three sacred treasures teams and the star of every KoF game, his moves are fun to play with in every rendition, and he's the one who changes most into groovy new looks every once in a while. This image of him is from "Capcom vs SNK" with "Sakura Kusagano". Isn't she adorable? Don't you worry; she has an honorbale upcoming mention

8. KIM KAPHWAN: In my early days as a "King of Fighters" specialist this man was one of my three man cell "Ultimate KoF team", he has absolutely no projectiles by he's easy to control and have powerful and quick attacks handy to defeat bosses. In "Fatal Fury 2" he's the guy I play with the most

9. 'K': This is how he is known in the world of SNK NeoGeo so far. I know this guy as the Wolverine (not the beast, the superhero of Marvel comics) of NeoGeo

10. SIE KENSOU: After KoF 2001 he's only seen in special editions in the series (no story, no canon), playing with him is a sensation

Todays list is all K's, don't you agree?

TOP VIDEO GAME CHARACTERS FILE 1

I don't know exactly how many favorite VG characters I have, but I'll list them in fives in every file:

1.SCORPION (MORTAL KOMBAT SERIES): He's the king of my favorite top video game characters, the spectre looking to avenge his death and moving back in forth in his war with the Lin-Kuei Sub-Zero, sure he as killed by the older brother of this Lin-Kuei but the war between them is still shaking. Scorpion has the best moves in every Mortal-Kombat game especially 2 & 4

2. SUB-ZERO (MORTAL KOMBAT SERIES): Who's best as second best aside from the main rival of my favorite character (Sub-Zero is the solo in my case until I come to Knuckles the Echinda)? With all awesome combat skills and the ice the freezes and hurts to death Sub-Zero earned his place with uniqueness

3. RYU (STREET FIGHTER SERIES): The main star of the series and the guy with the greatest moves in all SF games, Ken has a better flip, but the more I age the more I prefer Ryu's flip over Ken's spinning flip. Like me; Ryu is a loner, I like loner characters and this makes him more appealing.

4. SOL BADGUY ALIAS FREDERICK (GUILTY GEAR SERIES): A loner at most, and he speaks in the tough guy accent all his time but when you need him he's available. He hunt's enemies of humans known as gears, but for your informations Sol is a prototype gear so he's not human

5. SONIC THE HEDGEHOG: Who doesn't know Sonic video games series needs a reality check, he's the fastest hedgehog on Earth (I'm copying DC's Flash nickname on this dude). He's clever, he's quippy and he's blue, blue is my absolute favorite color.

SPIDER-MAN FoF

*The game in graphics and gameplay IMHO is very good as a PC game (I play it in my PC as I do with most of my games), not bad for a PS2 or a Wii game and a horror for the "Next Gen Consoles", surely the Wii is considered next Gen but it still uses DVD's not Blu-Ray's, so I don't give it that much consideration as a next gen if I don't consider the controls

*Surprisingly after two years of release; this cheesy game is still in the markets in my country and sells for around $47.35 and Spider-Man 3 the best game is withdrawn from markets, "Spider-Man: Web of Shadows" is a double layered DVD and sells for around $37 makes it better for "Web Of Shadows" players and counted economically good (glad I didn't buy it from the store I got WoS from)

*Combat sure beats SM3 for the PS2/Wii (even in Maximum Carnage the combat is better than it is in the Wii SM3), jumping and swinging enemies is fun.

*I expected good Web-Swinging and some free-roaming; I got dissapointed, at least after a long time and many games with that option removed I get to choose levels after beating them

*It's sort of embarrassing; but I compared this game to "Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks" (odd comparison, works for me sort of), what's better here if I die in co-op my companion doesn't die with me and I can rest between mission, (in MKSM one has no teleporter to the Bunshee Academy, why the comparison), you can play 2 players versus within FoF game instead of a different feature

*The game is entertaining enough anyway, I started playing yesterday and finished 9 missions

*Edit: I'm about to finish the game (only two more missions to go), and I have to say it is good on only one console: "Nintendo Game Cube". The Nipal graphics are a lot like the graphics of so many NGC games like Bomber-Man so I say it's a shame this game wasn't ported to that console.

In most forums it is forbidden to say so; I downloaded the game to be able to play it, it is not really worthy to pay for except for the DVD you buy to burn it on. I downloaded it over a year ago and just now was able to play it by doing the magic work of placing the game in the folder of the installed Spider-Man 3 "C:\Program Files\Activision", before putting it in that folder it never worked and all I had to say for it for a while is "GET ACTIVATED YOU PAIN" before placing it in that folder and then deleted it because it is not functional

Here's a fun fact: Spider-Man is voiced by "James Arnold Taylor" & "Harry Osbourn" is voiced by "Josh Keaton", they switched roles in the "Spectacular Spider-Man Animated Series"

WORST THING TO PLAY ON PC

The worst thing anyone can play on PC in my humble opinion isn't a PC game, it is in fact the "Nintedo Dual Screen".

I downloaded the No$GBA emulator, the best NDS emulator available and guess what, you can't fix the screen size, this is one beef, another is that most of the roms are broken; bad graphix, no backgrounds, you can't see who you play with, etc etc....

So if you want to play the NDS I have two suggestions:
1. Wait for a much better emulator
2. For your own sake it will be best for you to buy the console itself and the games you want to play on it

23. Axl Low: The poor warrior from the 20th century lost in time in the 22nd century

MONOPOLY

Dictionary definitions of the word:

monopoly plural monopolies
1 If a company or government has a monopoly of a business or political activity, it has complete control of it so that other organizations cannot compete with it
2 A large company that controls all or most of a business activity: The company is a state-owned monopoly.
3 If someone has a monopoly on something, that thing belongs to them, and no one else can share it.

From Longman dictionary

But when many of us here MONOPOLY this comes to our mind:

A famous board game that is hardly ever forgetable. This guy in the center of the logo is named Mr. Monopoly.

Beside the original U.K incarnation of it there are various editions of it based on characters or events like "World Cup 2006" Monopoly, there is a Spider-Man monopoly and also there are the various videogame depictions of 1 single board game.

In general there are three sets of cards:

1. Community Service (Pink cards on the board, a card is to be taken by the one whom his peace stands on the point on the board titled by this set of cards)

2. Chance (Yellow cards very much similar to community service)

3. Documents prooving what you own in this game of lands

A favorite card for most of the players is common between Chance & "Community Service" is "Get Out of Jail Free", you can sell this card with a bit more money than your initial 1,500 pounds. A joke on this card is: "In a prison, one of the inmates gave a security guard this card and he was released". From the source I got it from they say it's true, but this is too hard to be true, it's as hard as "Barry Allen" & "Wally West" team-up in a current issue with a revived Barry.

22 YEARS AS A FIGHTER

Not just a fighter, more as a guy searching his soul and looking for wisdom and strength.

Not sure when 22 years will be done exactly since that date, just share the joy of the years of success with this photo of the challenging rivals and best of friends.
